“Once you become fearless, you become limitless.” -unknown
The last year and a half I allowed fear to control me. I had pulled away from things I loved, goals I wanted to achieve, and even people I truly thought were friends. My new insecurities started to make me fearful of what others thought of me. I knew I was being under estimated because of my depression and mourning. Which led to judgement on my parenting, relationship with my spouse, and my wellness authority. I no longer believed I was capable or even worth the effort to try for my dreams. I felt like a failure. It set back everything I had worked on so hard for years, but mostly, it crippled ability to grow. Actually, I was pretty much going full speed backward. Almost like I could see myself in a bad dream, but I couldn’t wake up.
One day, I checked my email and there it was, not a challenge, but an invitation to commit to action. Accepted. Tired of making excuses, now was the time to make moves. No resolutions, No limits. The idea that the work should speak for itself fueled me. Head down, head phones on, and grind.
“Different people do different things when they feel vulnerable. I take action so I don’t feel helpless.” Elizabeth Glaser
Two weeks are all it took to take my life back. I had all the tools, I knew how to build a workout, and I was rehabbing all my injuries on my own. I always do me in fitness, I usually don’t need a class or an instructor between my injuries and experience, I tend to be pickier than most. Not everyone enjoys when their clients modifies the moves, so usually I only work out with women who don’t feel intimidated by another fitness leader or allow people to make their own modifications. Only thing I was lacking was accountability, I was on the hunt for crowd energy. I found it. In the most unlikely of places, my pocket.I am smashing my 2018 goals. The first time I heard of Gixo app was in Vancouver B.C. at Empower Retreat. They hosted a group workout on the streets of Gastown. I had never done anything like it, a live personal trainer app teaching group fitness. They coach from your app to your head phones. Innovative and functional. So when Fit Approach reached out to me to jump on board with their new #iamlimitless sponsored campaign I was all in. Honestly, it was just what I needed; time to grind on my own, with support from others.

It is dark outside and I am up. Gotta love new routines, they have a real way of showing you your weaknesses or your strengths. I am so excited every day to get to my early morning class. I have always wanted to be one of those up at the sun rise kind of girls. Usually I wouldn’t want to be out of the house before 9am, but now I am out by 630am! No chance to stay in bed or skip a workout. I feel so empowered, I throw on my headphones and log on to my Gixo workouts. No more planning and writing out my workouts everyday, I can just go and get a good routine done!
I love that they make you accountable with little check ins (water breaks) so they make sure you stay hydrated and a little “Hey girl, How are you doing?” The other day I even tried their new on camera class, I was coached through the whole workout. Personal trainer mode is just what I need because I go full force and it is hard to monitor form out of an explosive move, having good verbal cues helps me correct form mid air or on the drop. Out of all the classes I have taken, I like Liana’s morning quickies the best, and Mary Beth’s even walk/runs.
I had almost forgotten what it felt like to wake up with purpose and go to bed knowing I could dream again. Joining Gixo has truly been an awakening for my motivation. I no longer take days off with a possible workout once a week. Now I do a work every day and we walk as a family a few times a week. It feels so good to be back, but this time I am not putting limits on myself. I am just going to do what makes me feel alive and leave fear behind. #iamlimitless If you want to be to swing over to IG and let me know you are IN so we can meet up on the app! Sign me up for Gixo
